ADVOCACY AND POLICY

Unidos Nueva Alianza Foundation believe the people most affected by decisions should have a seat at the table.

We work alongside families, farmworkers, youth, and rural communities across Central Washington to ensure their voices are heard by local leaders, state agencies, and policymakers.

Our advocacy efforts are nonpartisan and focus on creating healthier, stronger, and more equitable communities. Whether improving access to health care, supporting working families, or developing the next generation of community leaders, we connect community experiences to meaningful change.

Advocacy means amplifying the voices of our community, raising awareness of their needs, and helping decision-makers understand the realities and challenges facing rural families, farmworkers, youth, and immigrant communities.

WHAT WE ADVOCATE FOR:

Healthy Communities

We work to expand access to quality health care, preventive services, oral health, and culturally responsive resources so rural and immigrant families can live healthier, stronger lives.

Economic Stability

We advocate for policies and initiatives that create economic opportunity, protect workers' rights, and improve access to essential services. By reducing barriers and strengthening support systems, we help families build stability and create brighter futures for children and caregivers.

Youth Leadership

We empower young people to become informed, engaged leaders by providing opportunities to develop leadership skills, understand civic processes, and actively participate in shaping the future of their communities.

Farmworker Overtime Impact Project

Many farmworkers have shared concerns about changes in overtime policies and how those changes may affect their work hours, income, and family finances.

Through surveys, community conversations, and partnerships with advocacy organizations, Unidos Nueva Alianza is helping document community experiences and ensure rural farmworker voices are included in ongoing policy discussions.

Our goal is simple: to ensure decisions are informed by the real experiences of the people most impacted.

Grant County LEAD Program

LEAD (Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy, and Development) is a youth leadership and civic engagement program designed for high school students in rural communities.

Through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on experiences, participants learn:

Leadership skills
Community organizing
Public speaking
Civic engagement
How local and state government works

Students also have opportunities to engage with community leaders and participate in advocacy experiences that help them understand how they can make a difference in their communities. LAUNCHING FALL 2026
